Roasted Oolong Tea

Roasted Oolong Tea

Roasted oolong is made using a traditional processing method in which the tea is roasted or baked over charcoal. This process gives the tea its unique appearance and flavor. The tea leaves become brown after a long period of roasting and the color of the tea liquor is amber. It has a mellow, rich flavor. Amber oolong is beneficial for digestion, especially of greasy or fatty foods. It can also be brewed with cold water in summer to make a flavorful iced tea. Because it stands up well to this type of brewing, it is often used to make canned, ready-to-drink iced teas. There are three classifications of Amber oolong, depending on the length of time it is baked: lightly-baked, medium-baked, and heavily-baked. This kind of tea can be made by baking finished pouchong and oolong teas in small batches in a cylindrical charcoal baker. The level of baking can be determined according to customer preference.
